Fernando Candela became IAG’s chief transformation officer in October 2020. He was appointed LEVEL chief executive in September 2019 and was previously chief executive of Iberia Express for six years. Before that, he was director of planning and management control at Air Nostrum.

Adam joined Avios in October 2018 as Chief Commercial Officer

Prior to joining Avios, Adam was Chief Commercial Officer at BA for three years (2015-2018). He also held positions of Chairman of British Airways Holidays, board member of City Flyer and a board member of Avios Group Ltd.

In that role Adam oversaw British Airways' worldwide commercial activity including marketing, pricing and revenue management, distribution strategy, website, call centres and digital strategy, the worldwide sales force and the Frequent Flyer Programme.

Having joined in 1992 on the BA Graduate scheme. Adam worked in Operations and Airport Customer Services at BA before moving to Commercial, he was part of the team that started ba.com and held several other key positions including Head of Call Centres, Head of UK Leisure Sales and Head of Revenue Management.

Before joining British Airways Adam spent a year in Australia after graduating from Durham University with a BA in History and Politics.

Sean Doyle

CEO of British Airways

Sean Doyle was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of British Airways with effect from 12 October 2020. Previously he was Chief Executive Officer and executive director of Aer Lingus from January 2019.  Prior to his appointment at Aer Lingus, Sean served as Director of Network and Alliances at British Airways, and a member of the Management Committee since 2016. In addition to overseeing Network and Alliances, Sean has acted as Chairman of BA's London City subsidiary BA CityFlyer and oversaw the airlines operations at London Gatwick. Prior to this, Sean was Executive Vice President Americas from 2013 to 2015, overseeing BA's commercial business in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Sean joined British Airways in 1998 and qualified as a Management Accountant (ACMA). He has undertaken various financial, strategy, and alliance roles. He is a graduate of University College Cork and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Chairman and CEO Aer Lingus

Lynne joined Aer Lingus as chief executive and chairman in April 2021.

Before that she was chief executive and chairman of IAG Cargo, a position she held for four years during which time she expanded the organisation’s digital capability and strengthened customer focus.

She previously held senior roles in British Airways including Managing Director of Gatwick and Director of Strategy. She was also chairman of BA CityFlyer. She joined the airline in 1992.  Lynne is a non-executive director of Ofgem, the UK energy regulator.

 Lynne holds a degree in mathematics, an MBA and an MSc in operational research.

Chief Information Officer

John became Chief Information Officer (CIO) in September 2019. He is responsible for all the Group’s IT and Digital activity including Cyber Security and Data.

John was previously Group CIO for Rolls-Royce and has over 30 years IT experience performing roles throughout the IT lifecycle across several industries. He graduated from Staffordshire Polytechnic with a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Chris Haynes

General Counsel

Chris is responsible for the Group’s legal and associated compliance activity. He was previously the senior commercial lawyer at British Airways and head of its mergers and acquisitions team, including during the merger between British Airways and Iberia.

Before joining British Airways, he worked as a lawyer for the law firm Ashurst. Chris studied economics and politics at Bristol University before studying law at the College of Law in Guildford.

Chief People, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer

Carolina Martinoli joined IAG in April 2021 initially as Chief Culture Talent and Sustainability Officer, her responsibilities expanded  in June 2021 when she became Chief People, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer.

 Carolina was previously Brand and Customer Experience Director at British Airways (2017-2021), Chief Customer Officer at Iberia (2015-2017) and Marketing Director at Iberia (2011-2015). Before joining the Group she held different positions in Yell, Telefónica Group and Imperial Chemical Industries. She graduated from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Business management.

Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive IAG Cargo

David became IAG Chief Strategy Officer in February 2021. He is responsible for the Group’s global strategy including mergers and acquisitions, fleet, network coordination, alliances, joint businesses, commercial and customer alignment.

He has over 20 years of experience in commercial aviation and has consulted for over 25 airlines – full service carriers and low cost airlines - in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.  He has conducted several multi-year end-to-end airline transformations and has executed large scale airline merger integrations. He has extensive expertise in Corporate and Commercial Strategy, Turnaround, Network Design, Fleet Procurement, Revenue Management, Distribution, Labor Management, M&A, and cost reduction.

David obtained a BA in Economics and a Master Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Javier Sanchez-Prieto

Chairman and CEO of Iberia

Javier became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Iberia in September 2020 having previously been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vueling from April 2016, prior to that he was Strategic Planning and Finance Director of Iberia since 2013, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and played a key role in the Transformation Plan to restore profitability and future sustainability of the Spanish airline.

Previously he had been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Corporate Functions at Iberia Express. Since it was created in 2012, the company has been noticed for being profitable from its very beginning and one of the most punctual and efficient in Europe.

Between 2003 and 2012 he carried out directing positions for several departments at Grupo Uralita. Prior to this he had started his career in the aviation industry as Deputy Director of Strategic Planning at Air Nostrum in 2001.

Javier is a graduate in Business Studies from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Technical Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, as well as a postgraduate in several programmes from ESADE and Instituto de Empresa (IE) among others.

Marco became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vueling in September 2020, after being Chief Commercial Officer of Iberia since 2013, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and played a key role in the transformation process to restore profitability and future sustainability of the Spanish airline.

Marco has a 25 years experience in the airline industry and has been working throughout Europe in Amsterdam, Zurich, Paris, Rome and Madrid.

He started at KLM in 1995 and carried a number of positions in Sales & Marketing, Alliances and M&A. In 2001 he was appointed as General Manager for Central Europe. With the Air France -KLM merger Marco moved to Paris in 2004 and held the responsibility first as VP Global Business and then as Commercial Director Europe.

In 2012 Marco took the responsibility first as Sales & Distribution Director and then as Chief Strategy & Network Officer at Alitalia.

Marco is a graduate in Economics from University of Bolonia and took an EMBA at IMD (Lausanne).
